The Women Entrepreneurship Fund project today, Thursday, August 8, 2024, held a day-long validation workshop to validate the SWEED+ Small Grant operations manual at Tamala Hotel.
The validation meeting was attended by stakeholders, including the Board of the Women Enterprise Fund, Management Team, and the Technical Working Group.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, the Permanent Secretary, Roheyatou Kah, said the small grant manual being validated today has been developed as an outcome of the SWEDD+ sub-component on the expansion of economic opportunities and financial inclusion targeting adolescent girls and young women aged 15 to 24 years.
The target beneficiaries include school-going and out-of-school females, with the objective of building their capacities for better employment and income generation opportunities, she noted.
She seized the opportunity and commended the significant contribution of all stakeholders who worked on the draft, including the Women Enterprise Fund Management team, the technical working group, the SWEDD+ Project Implementation Committee (PIC), the World Bank, and all those who worked tirelessly to develop the document within the specific timeframe.
