MoGCSW and tostan held Cross-Border Meeting in Amdalai

The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare organized a significant Cross-Border Meeting on the 14th and 15th of December 2023. The meeting, held in Amdalai, brought together delegates from Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea Bissau to address critical issues such as Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), Child Marriage, and the roles of women in peace-building. The objecives of the meeting was to
• To foster collaboration and dialogue between Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea Bissau in addressing FGM/C and Child Marriage.
• To raise awareness about the negative consequences of FGM/C and Child Marriage.
• To highlight the role of women in peace-building efforts. To develop strategies and mechanisms for eradicating harmful practices and promoting peace and security.
The activity was attended by participants and Security Officers from Gambia, Senegal and Guinea Bissau characterised by statements from delegates of the 3 countries on FGM, Child Marriage and the role of women in Peace Building. Pictorial Highlights
