The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, with funding from the SWEED Project, began a three-day training program of “Kabilo Bama” in the Kiang Kaiaf community of the Lower River Region on Thursday, September 6, 2024. The training aims to enhance livelihood skills and promote socioeconomic empowerment among women.
The event was coordinated by Fatou Sey, Principal Women Empowerment Officer, with Kaddy Sanyang as the lead trainer. The initiative seeks to provide participants with essential skills in various areas, including batik and tie & dye. These skills are expected to empower women to establish small businesses, generate income, and alleviate economic burdens on their families.
